Pixel Resolution For DVD, HDTV, And Regular TVs (SDTV)

Some links on this blog are affiliate links, which pay small sales commissions.
DVD pixel resolution is 852 wide by 480 tall.

SDTV, standard definition TV, is 852x480 widescreen, 704x480 4:3 (classic TV "square").

For HDTV (high definition TVs) you need 1280x720 or 1920x1080.

I do some motion graphics from time to time, and I'm doing a Keynote presentation which I may want to adapt for DVD-quality video or above. For making video on my Mac, this is all the info I need. Of course, there's more info out there. More info is kind of the problem, though; I don't want epic detail, I want a simple answer right away.
